Dog Training is both an art and a science.  Not all dog training is the same quality.  We get results, and we exceed expectations.

Dynamic Dogs is a group of dedicated professionals:

Jennifer Hack, CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer) and Behavior Specialist

With Addo, SchH3                                               With Gemeaux

In addition to Jennifer's understanding of dog psychology and behavioral science, her natural ability with animals has given her the ability to be a top tier dog trainer. Since a young age, she's been able to communicate with animals in an extraordinary way. Jennifer's educational background is in Clinical Psychology and mental health. Dog training went from being a strong interest to being a career.  She also has a strong interest in nutrition and holistic health.  Jennifer enjoys outdoor activities and protection sports with her three Belgian Malinois.   She is a true animal lover and a vegetarian of 14 years.  She often fosters Pit Bulls, German Shepherds, (both among her favorite breeds) and other dogs who need homes, and volunteers her time to help rescues.

Jennifer has worked with hundreds of dogs, small and large, and has trained dogs hands-on for their owners, including to off-leash and competition level. She is experienced in instructing group classes, agility, private obedience and behavior lessons, aggressive dogs, and therapy dog training.  She  is a certified AKC Good Citizen evaluator as well as a Professional Member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and a member of Schutzhund USA.  Her style of training is individualized and recognizes that a dog is an intelligent animal that deserves respect.  She thought of the name "Dynamic Dogs" because of the many different ways dogs influence our lives and serve purposes, and also to reference the interesting "dynamics" between dogs and their owners.  Those dynamics is what our trainers work with every day.

Jennifer is also certified through CCPDT. Certified Professional Dog Trainers with the CPDT-KA designation after their name have earned this credential by demonstrating their knowledge and experience in dog training, and a commitment to continuous education. Each professional dog trainer who earns the designation is required to achieve a minimum of 300 hours teaching classes, providing private dog training, and working with dogs before being permitted to sit for a psychometrically sound written examination, as well as giving references from veterinarians, clients, and colleagues. The written examination covers all facets of the profession, including canine ethology, the science of learning theory, animal husbandry, classroom management and technique, and more.  Jennifer keeps up to date on advances in the field of canine behavior.

Ben Bartelstein, Pro Dog Trainer, Canine Behavior and Aggression Specialist, Personal Protection Decoy

Ben with Rockwell at TOPS K9 Confidence Course

Ben (pictured below at age 9) is one of the rare trainers who has been training dogs since he was a child.  He grew up around dog training, as his father is also a dog trainer who specializes in difficult behavior and obedience.  Ben has extensive experience training dogs, and he's developed his own style, centered on teaching through clear communication and sound techniques.  He has a great understanding of how dogs learn and how they think.

He worked under several accomplished trainers over the years.  Through the direction of top notch trainers and his own experience, he  has gained extensive knowledge of the best and most effective methods.  Because of his experience with hands-on learning, he has amazing skills with dogs.  In his free time he's training his dog, naturally!

Ben is well known for his highly advanced trained dogs-- he has appeared on national and local television several times with his trick dogs and has performed at local events, local news, WCIU dog videos, Inside Edition tv show, movie sets, and on the Rachel Ray Show in NYC.  His dogs perform amazing trick, which are really just advanced obedience.  Ben enjoys teaching his dog new things, so his dogs do many tasks: off-leash obedience, retrieve objects like remote controls, jump through hoops, walk on their back legs, scent tracking, and many other advanced behaviors.

Ben Bartelstein specializes in behavior problems, advanced obedience, protection, and rehabilitating aggressive dogs.  From biters to fearful anxious canines... There is no dog that is too much for Ben to handle.  His behavioral solutions are creative and tailored for each dog. Clients get clear solutions and step-by-step detailed instruction for changing behavior.  Ben has worked with some of the most challenging cases of aggressive dogs.

He works with dogs in all facets, including pets and companions, working dogs, service dogs, competitive obedience dogs, and certified therapy dogs. With his expertise, Ben excels at training protection dogs, including high-level sport protection and civil protection.   Ben is a member of Schutzhund USA.  He has worked with all breeds small to large, and has worked with thousands of dogs.  Ben is a highly skilled trainer and a true dog lover.  His favorite dog book is "How to Speak Dog" by Dr. Stanley Coren.  Email: Ben@dynamicdogschicago.com

Aliyah Carey, Assistant Trainer

Aliyah began as a client of Dynamic Dogs, having her Cattle Dog Mix, Mischa trained.  Mischa was adopted from Animal Welfare League and came with her own quirks and aggression issues- she was the troublemaker at the dog park.  After making great progress during training, she is now well behaved, off-leash trained, and able to enjoy weekly trips to the dog park!  Dynamic Dogs trainers were highly impressed with Aliyah's commitment to continuing working with her dog after the board and train and taking her dog to an advanced level, so when she expressed interest in working with the dogs, she became part of the team.

Aliyah has a natural talent with animals, patiently teaching them, and she demonstrates leadership in a group of dogs at play at our training center.  She has two dogs, Mischa the Cattle Dog Mix, and Echo a Lab/Pit Bull Mix.
