We use only humane techniques that are proven to work. We get to know your dog and find their motivation, using praise, affection, and various drives. All new behaviors are taught through positive reinforcement, giving the dog an opportunity to learn. We teach all obedience, from basics and manners to advanced off-leash training.
To have reliable behavior, not only must the learning phases be completed properly, there must also be clearly understood consequence for choices. Simply training with treats as lures does not equate to reliable behavior. Bribes do not work- Even if you have a T-bone steak in your hand, if your dog would rather run into the street after a squirrel, he will. Behavior must be proofed for the distractions of real life. Consistency, and making your training clear (think black & white) is very important. We encourage trust, mutual respect, and clear communication- teach your dog what's right and what's wrong! Don't think your dog is trained after only 18 days and is done though. Training never ends, and is lifelong. No dog of any age is "completely trained", they are learning every day, just like we are.

About Behavior problems...

Aggression Problems...
We are doggie problem solvers, and we work with all types, ranging from teaching manners to the friendly family puppy, to rehabilitating the most aggressive canines. While others may fear aggressive dogs, we step right in confidently to asses the situation objectively and provide solutions. There is a scale of aggression for dogs, and you may not know exactly how "severe" the issue is. All you know is that there's a problem here. There is hope- Most behavior problems can be managed or eliminated.
Most aggression is based in fear. Your customized solution may involve obedience, building trust, and carefully created exercises where positive associations can be made with the feared subjects, under the close supervision of your trainer.
Or maybe you feel weak because your dog is out of control. The truth is most dogs don't want to lead the pack, they don't want to be in charge, and they usually don't want to get into fights. They just don't know any alternate behaviors yet and may be acting out. Even good dogs can act in ways we consider bad. Your dog wants to look at you as a competent and fair leader, and wants to know whats expected of him. Remember you can't confront aggression with aggression, so avoid any training techniques that are dominance-based or harsh. Just because you saw it work on tv doesn't mean it's a good idea for your particular dog. Well-meaning friends or family may give you advice, but trying things yourself may make not help your situation. If you are experiencing any aggression issues, you are going to need a trainer who is a behavior specialist. Proper training is the key to long-term changes.

We read these signals and interpret them to be able to customize our training.

Once you have an understanding for they "why's" of your dogs behavior, the next thing we will help with is actually showing you how to change the behavior for the long-term, no quick fixes, using your communication signals (language, cues) because we are not dogs- We cannot growl at them when they're naughty. Proper training is the key, and there is a system to it. You, and any family members, will learn the handling of your trained dog and how to be consistent at home. We train your dog, but also you!
